Great lamb kebabs

Thanks Videojug for this great recipe

I didnt grill them though, but shallow fried in the pan. And instead of wrapping around skewers, flattened them into disc shaped patties.

I swear they tasted straight off Mohammed Ali Road!

baked potato that didnt quite bake

Priyanka shared this recipe with me, and Carol further encouraged me to try after her baked aubergine pasta turned super. So I semi boiled the potatoes, and sliced em thin, and brushed on the oil, and put them on the aluminium foil, and baked them at 500 degrees for 20 mins. And the bloody thing remained as raw as ever.
They are now sitting in the fridge. Will give it a shot tomorrow. Another 20 mins, or maybe an hour - depends on how thin my patience wears tomorrow.

keeda

Thats me. When life is perfect and everything is going on as planned, a little twitch sets in. A bit of restlessness. A deathwish. And then I go right ahead and screw things, just for that little bit of adventure.
Opened my mouth at the wrong time, have to clear up the mess on Monday. There goes my peaceful weekend.

For Mishti

For my little fairy...
You make your wish, and feel a twitch at your back. You turn your head to look, and see that enormous wings, with feathers of iridescent purple and deep blue, have sprouted from your back. You run to the mirror to find that they are not reflected -- you are the only one who knows of their presence. You test them tentatively, then strongly, and lift off the ground. The night sky beckons...

I often thought about these lines, that symbolized everything I hoped for my little fairy! Hopefully she found them!

Snow!

I live in Mumbai where it is quite an event if the temperature drops below 15 degree Celsius. I have been visiting the US since the past 2 years, but its always been spring, summer or fall. I have vacationed in the north and north east parts of India, but had only seen snow in the form of distant ice capped Himalayas.

So when I woke up on Sunday morning and pulled back the curtains, it was the loveliest sight Ive ever seen - the entire hotel campus, the road beyond, the rail tracks, the rooftops, all covered with the first pristine snowfall of the season.

Oh it was lovely! And i cursed myself for not getting up earlier for watching the falling flakes...but by the time i finished my bath, it had started snowing in full swing. I grabbed my winter wear and camera, and embarked on a stroll to the mall.

The snow was fresh and soft, I had flakes on my eyelashes and tongues, and hands, and i felt like i was living a dream...unforgettable.

Back in Bom

The airport last night was a mass frenzy of human bodies, especially at the exit. That and the heat! The heat actually hits you physically as you walk out from the temperature controlled environs of the airport. And I didnt bother taking the trolley as the bags were too heavy for me to lift and keep them on top - and i forgot how the roads are on this side of the world...
Mangesh finally managed to find me - well, actually he walked past me while trying to call me on the cell phone, and then ofcourse, he was there to take care of things. Tha advantages of having a man in your life...aha!
Mishti is thinner and taller again, mum looks tired, dad has been diagnosed with high blood sugar, kitchen is in a mess, honeymoon is over.
